ZOC APPOINTS NEW CDM FOR TOKYO 2020 GAMES

Mr. Fredreck Ndlovu, Chef de Mission (CdM) for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

ZOC is pleased to announce the appointment of seasoned administrator Fredreck Ndlovu as Chef de Mission (CdM) to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Having successfully undergone a selection process, his confirmation was presented to and approved by the ZOC Board on the 16th of June 2021.  The CdM’s main role will be to effectively manage the Zimbabwe Olympic Team before, during and after the Games. He takes over from Mr. Thabani Gonye who now travels to the games in his capacity as President of the NOC.

Fredreck, the ZOC Vice President brings with him vast experience in sport governance and management. He is the current Vice President of Confederation of African Volleyball. Fred was the Deputy Chef de Mission-Technical for Team Zimbabwe for the AUSC Region 5 Under 20 Youth Games, Luanda Angola 2016.

We wish to thank his predecessor Mr. Thabani Gonye for his sterling work in preparing the team up to this stage. On behalf of the ZOC board and the Olympic family in Zimbabwe we wish Mr. Fredreck Ndlovu all the best in his new role as he takes charge of the team to the games.
