Team Zimbabwe at the 2024 Paris Olympics
Team Zimbabwe proudly sent a delegation of 7 athletes to compete in athletics, rowing, and swimming at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Each athlete showcased their talent and determination on the world stage.
Tapiwanashe Makarawu finished 6th place in the 200m final with a time of 20:10!
Makanaka Charamba also shone brightly, finishing 8th place in the 200m final with a time of 20:53. This was HISTORY MADE! For the first time since 2008, Zimbabwe had not just one but two sprinters in the Olympic finals!
Isaac Mpofu gave it his all and finished an impressive 19th place with a time of 2:10:09! We’re proud of his achievement and the effort he put into representing Zimbabwe on the world stage!
Steve Cox crossed the finish line at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games! Rowing with heart and determination, Steve secured an impressive 29th place overall in the men’s single sculls event!
In the swimming events, Denilson Cyprianos made an impressive Olympic debut in the 200m backstroke, setting a new personal best time of 2:01:91! He finishes 28th overall, a remarkable achievement in his first Games!
Paige made a splash in her Olympic debut, winning her heat in a time of 58:19! She finishes 25th overall, a fantastic achievement in her first Games!
Lastly, Rutendo Nyahora ran with heart and soul but unfortunately didn’t cross the finish line today. In her words: “Sometimes it’s not your day, and that’s okay. I’ll pick myself up, recover, and come back stronger.” We’re in awe of her courage and determination!
