Safe and Inclusive Sport – Together For Inclusion Workshop for People Living With Disabilities

The Safe Sport workshop in Bulawayo

The Zimbabwe Olympic Committee with funding from the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee & Confederation of Sports (NIF) is today hosting the Bulawayo Safe and Inclusive Sport Workshop under the theme: Together for Inclusion is being held at Rainbow Hotel Bulawayo, targeting people living with disabilities. The workshop is being coordinated by the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee in conjunction with Zimbabwe National Paralympic Committee. The objectives of the session are:

  1. To open up an avenue for dialogue on a topical issue that is just starting to be raised and interrogated in sport and in relation to people with Disabilities.
  2. Map a possible way forward – regarding to Safe and Inclusive Sport programming in relation to your work, your organization, and at the policy level.
  3. Building knowledge on Safe and its relevance in the work that is done in organizations

Safeguarding policies and regulations provide a way for sport organizations to address abuse and promote “safe sport”. The Safe and Inclusive Committee under the leadership of Mr. Tawanda Sithole is spearheading the Safe Sport agenda in the country.
